Children’s Fair a Great Success!
The East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative would like to thank the following sponsors for making the 2010 Children’s Fair a success: Town of East Haven Department of Public Works; East Haven Fire and Police Departments; East Haven Rotary Club; Jennifer’s Ice Cream; Dunkin Donuts on Main Street; Home Depot; the Read to grow Organization for donating books; Stop and Shop Supermarket; Brianna Krzeminski for her caricature drawings and East Haven Public Television.
Pony rides were a new addition to this years Children’s Fair. The following businesses generously donated to make the pony rides possible: The Rib House, Zullo and Jacks, Bardell Office Supplies, Forbes premium Fuel, Goody’s Hardware Store and the JST Corporation.

GREAT NEWS! Collaborative Gets United Way Grant
The East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative was recently awarded a $5000 grant from the United Way of Greater New Haven to hold a series of Kinder Prep session during the upcoming school year. This new program is designed to help parents effectively recognize and address their children’s developmental milestones using information gathered through a series of meetings with the goal of having children be better prepared to enter kindergarten.
Additional information on the Kinder Prep program will be available soon.
SMILES TO GO MOBILE DENTAL CLINIC
The St Raphael’s Mobile Dental Van will visit
East Haven Town Hall every Monday from 9am – 2pm beginning June 21st thru Aug 30th.
First come, first served for initial visit, follow-up appointments scheduled.
Basic dental care for all. We accept all forms of State insurance.
There is a sliding scale fee for those without insurance coverage (please money orders only).

People Empowering People Program
In the fall of 2010 the East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative will offer a People Empowering People (PEP) parent program. PEP is a personal and family development program with a strong community focus. This program builds upon individual life experiences and strengths to encourage growth in communication and problem solving skills, parent/family relationships and community involvement. The program will be conducted by a trained PEP facilitator. EH ROTARY OFFERS FREE AMBER ALERT IDENTIFICATION CARDS
The Rotary Club of East Haven will again be offering free amber alert identification cards every 3rd Saturday of the month from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Hagaman Memorial Library.
The only requirement to obtain the ID card is for the parent/guardian to fill out and sign a brief consent form. The information provided does not identify the child by name, address, school or event location and is only useful to law enforcement and the parent/guardian in an emergency.
2009 UNSAFE TOYS LIST POSTED
World Against Toys Causing Harm, Inc. (W.A.T.C.H.), a Massachusetts charitable non-profit corporation, has posted the 2009 LIST of UNSAFE TOYS. W.A.T.C.H. discusses toy hazards and has much more useful information for parents about toys safety.

EHECC Monthly Meetings
2010 meetings of the East Haven Early Childhood Collaborative will be announced here. Meetings are held in the Hagaman Library Community Room at 12:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to join us at all our meetings and become part of this community effort.
