EH ROTARY OFFERS FREE AMBER ALERT IDENTIFICATION CARDS
CABLE COMM, LLC TO SPONSOR THE ROTARY CLUB OF EAST HAVEN’S FREE AMBER ALERT PHOTO ID PROGRAM at the 2011 EAST HAVEN FALL FESTIVAL SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 10TH 2011 from 12 NOON UNTIL 4:00PM.
Rotarians will be conducting registration of children into the nationally acclaimed Amber Alert Photo Identification program in the East Haven Fire Department Tent, located near the games and across from the food tent on the Town Green. The event is being sponsored by Cable Comm, LLC, a general construction company from Guilford.
The AmberAlert Child ID program is a voluntary program for all children under the age of 18. The parent/guardian of participating children will receive a wallet–sized, laminated card with a photo of the child, a unique AMBERAlert number and only minimal, yet essential information needed to find a child in the event a child is abducted. The encrypted information is sent to a secured National AMBERAlert data base. Multiple AMBER ID cards are available for an additional fee.
The only requirement to obtain the ID card is for the parent/guardian to fill out and sign a brief consent form. The information provided does not identify the child by name, address, school or event location and is only useful to law enforcement and the parent/guardian in an emergency.
