HOW EHECC PLANS TO REACH THIS GOAL
- Develop an asset map of East Haven (current activity).
- Cultivate the interest of citizens to join us in a dialogue about early childhood education.
- Develop a community early childhood plan.
- Develop indicators, strategies and assessments to determine our success rate.

EHECC GOALS 2009
The EHECC has set goals detailed in our ACTION PLAN to fullfill our mission.
Goal #3, our parent training program, is on hold at this time due to state budget problems.
Goal #4 Asset Mapping – The asset mapping initiative is currently our focus and is set to begin on April 8, 2009. Read the Asset Mapping Event Press Release.
CURRENT OBJECTIVES
- To educate the community on the value of early learning.
- To empower parents to be active participants in their child's learning.
- To direct families to early childhood resources offered in East Haven and surrounding communities.
- To provide a strong community-embedded plan for transitioning children to kindergarten.
- To begin construction of a diverse, comprehensive community early childhood plan.
EHECC PARTNERS
The William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund is our funding agent.
Their main goals:
- To expand the supply of high quality early childhood education.
- To increase the quality of the existing early childhood education.
- To build strong connections between early care and elementary education.
- To improve students’ social, emotional and academic performance.
- To facilitate on going professional development to early childhood providers in East Haven.
• EHECC’s initiatives include People Empowering People Leadership Training, transition to kindergarten planning and dialogues between public schools and early education providers.
• EHECC provides opportunites to participate in meaningful, high quality childhood experiences.
• EHECC partners support programs for children to enter kindergarten well prepared to learn.
